This week we are working on Theme.

Homework:
Finish "Guess the Theme" if you didn't finish in class.
Book Club this week is on Thursday. Be sure to complete and PRINT OUT your discussion guide and bring it to class on THURSDAY.

Finish your Blast chart that we began in class. DO NOT do the Blast itself.

Be sure to have an independent reading book for class tomorrow. We will be using it and you will be marked down if you don't have one when you come to class.

Eclipse Monday - Monday, August 21

Welcome to Week 2. We start the week with an eclipse and the first school rally of the year.

Today - You will have class time to complete any of the assignments from last week. Everything is due tomorrow.

• Read Dating Paragraph (turn in to Google Classroom)
• Growth Mindset HyperDoc (turn in to Google Classroom)
• One Word Decorated plate (turn in to the station folder)

Also, check Google Classroom to be sure that everything that has been assigned has been turned around. As of tomorrow, there will be no outstanding assignments.

Almost the end of a great start to the year. I am looking forward to getting to know you all.

Homework:

If you have not finished the assignments from Station Rotation #1, they are due tomorrow.

On Monday we have two big events at the school:

• 3rd period - We will go out to experience the Solar Eclipse. Bring glasses, or you can make the pin holes to see it. DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THE SUN!!!
• 8th Period is a school-wide rally. We will meet at class and walk over together.
• 1st and 6th period - You will have a work/independent reading period. If you have not finished Station 2 work - Growth Mindset HyperDoc, One Word Mini-Poster, and the Independent Reading Goal Paragraph, you can work on that. Otherwise, you will read independently. Please come with a book to read.
